Notices about the intended makeover are posted at checkouts at the Davison Drive supermarket, located on the town's east side.

 "When complete the store will feature changes in some departments, providing customers with a brighter and fresher shopping experience," said a statement released last week by Loblaw Companies, the firm which operates the Atlantic Superstore brand.

 "We will continue to focus on our fresh food offering and the renovation will enable us to enhance our assortment of products to continue to meet our customer demands."

 The floral, produce, deli and seafood departments are among sectors getting reconfigured. Some colour schemes will also be updated.

 "Some departments will also be expanded to enhance our assortment of products," the company's public relations department added.

 Loblaw Companies said renovations will happen in the spring but notices posted in Bridgewater's Superstore said changes start this month. The notice also indicates changes in its hours of operation through the week and on Sundays.

 "The store will remain open during renovations," the Loblaw Companies statement said.

 "Store hours during the renovation will be 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day of the week, but are subject to change once the renovation begins."

 Loblaw Companies won't reveal the monetary value of the store's facelift.

 "That's proprietary information. We don't disclose anything of that sort."

 Arguably the last major construction on Bridgewater's Superstore was a 2,500-square-metre expansion about 10 years ago.
