Kippers ready to swing into new year The brand-new year is upon us and Kippers has fresh new volunteers taking the reins.
Kippers School of Gymnastics is a not-for-profit youth community sport club. The operation of the club is overseen by the volunteer board of directors. Board members include Jackie Barkhouse, Mike Ross, Aline Couturier, Deanne Oickle-Conrad, Lisa Leblanc, Monica Williams, Cheryl Leetch, Morgan Gibson, Nena Erickson, Tina Herman, Sherry Osmond and Leah Ross. Full-time Kippers coaching staff are Melissa Peck and Brianna Spring. Get in shape for the new year with fitness classes from Aline Couturier. Aline will offer lunchtime classes on Mondays and Fridays from 12:15 to 1 p.m. To register call 543-4010 and leave your name and phone number. Aline offers a variety of strength and muscle conditioning classes, and is a certified Canfit Pro instructor. The first artistic meet that Kippers will attend is Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, from January 26 to 29. Competitive season will then be in full swing during the coming months. The board and staff volunteers completed chocolate bar sales at the community booth in the mall on December 23. Over $800 was raised. In addition, the cookie dough fundraiser was a huge success, bringing in over $1,800. Watch for new fundraising initiatives coming soon. Regular gymnastics classes resume for all programs during the week of January 8. posted on 01/04/12 |
