An afternoon of winter fun in Pine Grove took a bad turn New Year's Eve when a woman was hurt in a sledding mishap.

 Paramedics and Northfield district firefighters were dispatched to a hill near Robart Street around 3 p.m., December 31, to a report of an injured 30-year-old woman.

 She apparently experienced temporary numbness in her legs after being struck in the back by at least one other sledder when she fell off her own ride.

 The woman was taken by ambulance to South Shore Regional Hospital for further assessment.
